Must Watch Underrated Anime

With school works before and work now, I still manage to squeeze time for anime simply because I really like it, to the point that I decided to go to Japan to study Japanese. I have been following anime releases every season, since I was in high school. And I find it unfortunate for some good anime that remained unknown to many. Thus, I want to share with you these anime! I hope you’ll like them too! 💗



Chihayafuru

 

This anime is centered around the Japanese card game called Karuta. I won't waste your time explaining the rules of the game, so just try to watch it! Although it's a card game, I'm telling you that this anime makes the game itself intense, that you might consider it a sport. But basically, the story revolves around three childhood friends whose relationship started with Karuta. With their relationship being bounded by Karuta, what will happen to them as they grow up? If you don't mind learning something new, you're a fan of action or you can relate with unrequited love, this one is for you!

Kimi to Boku (You and I)

This is a heartwarming anime about the life of young boys -- romance, childhood, pranks and anything in between. There is no concrete story line but you'll see how their relationships remain the same and develop throughout the series. What I really like about this anime is that cats are given screen time throughout the series! 😻 If you just want to chill and laugh, then try this one!

Noragami (Stray God)

Yato, who's originally a god of misfortune, wants to change himself by having a lot of worshipers. Hiyori, a human girl, wants her normal life to return when she finds that her soul can leave her body. They agreed to help each other out, thus, begins their adventure with the secrets of gods. It might seem just an adventure but this anime goes deeper as you watch more episodes. If you're in for that kind of ride, then go now!

Ore Monogatari!! (My Love Story!!)

I remember myself laughing out loud watching this anime, and waiting for each episode every week. The dynamics among the characters were just too funny. It follows a big guy, Takeo, who has a handsome childhood best friend, Suna. Suna is popular with girls, even with the girls Takeo has ever liked, except...!? This anime is a true definition of romantic comedy so if you're a fan of this genre, why not try this one?

Soredemo Sekai wa Utsukushii (The World is Still Beautiful)

Nike uses songs to make rain. In order to protect their humble kingdom, she is married off to a young King, Livius, from the Sun Kingdom. On the other hand, Livius only wants to expand the power of his kingdom. Now, how will Nike use her power to influence Livius? As the leading female character uses her voice, I think that this anime's songs are pretty good and heartwarming! You'll see how this will change Livius from being a cruel king as the rumors say.
